As an Energy Efficiency Consultant for Demand Management, you will deliver and create innovative customer programs to reduce demand during peak times, helping to maintain a stable electrical grid. In this role, you will work with our growing Demand Response (DR) team focused on all aspects of standing up and delivering DR and electric vehicle (EV) managed charging programs for residential and commercial, electric & gas customers in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. Your focus will be on helping to drive new initiatives forward while expanding existing programs to meet decarbonization goals across Eversource’s tri-state service territory.

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are full time in the office.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provides direction to business partners and/or technical project expertise to customers for successful delivery of customer-facing DR programs, tracks progress toward program goals and metrics.
  • Drives the integration of strategic activities between the customer, other utilities/ program administrators, advisory consultants, and vendors/contractors.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders within the energy efficiency organization, in addition to Eversource’s system planning, grid modernization, solar, interconnection and rates teams.
  • Coordinates the development of documents and plans necessary to meet compliance with regulatory filings and oversight of ratepayer funded Energy Efficiency and Grid Modernization programs.
  • Provides guidance and support to junior team members. Trains internal and external stakeholders on demand response and managed charging program strategies, processes, and techniques.
  • Executes the budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, and tracking of expenses and energy savings of assigned offerings; contributes to the development of RFPs for contracted services.
  • Demonstrates proactive thought leadership within vertical sector through developing and designing technology implementation strategies/initiatives.
  • Represents Eversource in regulatory hearings and technical sessions
  • Presents as a subject matter expert, representing Eversource in public forums, national energy efficiency conferences and/or stakeholder events (e.g. PLMA, AESP, and DistribuTECH).
