Michael Brown is Manager of Demand Response and Distributed Energy Resources at NV Energy. He manages smart grid enabled customer solutions for energy and peak demand management. Michael’s efforts have included the design and implementation of one of the nation’s largest two-way communicating programmable thermostat programs; a large-scale Home Area Network program that integrates energy efficiency and demand response; a commercial building IDSM program that leverages automated communications and optimization software to obtain significant energy and peak demand savings; and an advanced Demand Response Management System.

Dr. Scott Coe has fifteen years of experience working in wholesale electricity markets and his skills include areas from technical design to process improvement. In particular, Scott has deep knowledge of demand response concepts and has worked with market operators, transmission system operators, distribution companies, and energy retailers to define and implement demand-side resource programs. Scott also led the NIST working group which developed the Wholesale Demand Response Communication Protocol and is currently co-chairing the CIMOpenADR Harmonization working group at the IEC.

Ross leads Skipping Stone's Smart Grid and Demand Response practice and is an international expert in the demand response markets across the entire value chain from retail to utilities to market operations and rules. He is a pioneer in demand response enabling technologies.

Stuart Schare

Stuart is a Managing Director with Navigant and is one of the firm’s principal experts in Demand Response. He has led numerous projects in DR program strategy, design, and evaluation for large and small investor‐ owned utilities. He has published and is a frequent speaker on topics related to utilities’ use of DR for resource plan.

Who Should Attend. Utility and regulatory staff as well as other energy industry trade allies and organizations seeking thought leadership and insight on innovative demand response methods to meet peak energy load needs, mitigate price, and manage variable generation.
How DR Dialogue Works. When you register, you may submit a comment or question in advance. After brief introductions, the two featured speakers will have an informal 30-minute conversation.
