Senior Analyst - Customer Engagement Solutions

E Source

Are you a rock star manager with research experience? Are you interested in improving the relationship between utility companies and their customers? If so, E Source would like to hear from you. We’re looking for a manager to lead our Customer Engagement Solutions research team. This person will oversee the delivery of research services that cover customer experience, marketing, communications, account management, and more. We provide independent research, information, advisory, and consulting services to utilities, cities, and their partners. Our mission is to build a sustainable future in partnership with our clients.

Here are the values we live by at E Source:

  • Be the best at what you do—provide high-quality work in all aspects of your job.
  • Do the right thing—have integrity, be trustworthy, and put the team above personal gain.
  • Lead the change—lead with curiosity, innovate, and embrace change in order to grow.
  • Cultivate community—build relationships, assume positive intent, and foster a culture of inclusivity.

The ideal candidate for this role has:

  • People management experience. You’ll manage, coach, and support the development of team members.
  • Research experience and passion. You’re a research professional with an impressive track record. We’d prefer a candidate with at least five years of experience. You have experience planning and delivering research projects of varying size, scope, and time frames. We’d prefer a candidate with experience in contact center operations, customer experience, account management, or marketing and communications.
  • Humility, a collaborative attitude, and a team-first mindset. You know there are things you don’t know, and that energizes you. You believe two brains are better than one, and you proactively seek support, advice, and guidance from others. You’re proficient at working across multiple teams to accomplish large and small goals.
  • Creativity and openness. You aren’t afraid to share your ideas for how we might do things differently, and you’re comfortable with divergent thinking.
  • An affinity for data. You seek good, comprehensive data to inform your decisions, while also acknowledging that sometimes you must rely on your judgement.
  • A strategic, growth-focused mind. You see many paths for growth, but you also know that investing in one thing means not investing in another. You ask great questions and think through the risks and opportunities of decisions.
  • Rigor and discipline. You understand that without discipline and process, big ideas don't go far. You appreciate effective processes and actively work to improve flawed ones. You manage your time well and your coworkers can count on you to do what you say you’ll do.
  • Industry experience. We’d prefer if you had experience working in or with electric, gas, dual-fuel, or water utilities.

The manager will actively participate in cross-team engagements and guide members of the team to successful project deliveries. The manager will need to wear multiple hats and employ a ‘do whatever it takes’ attitude to make sure the team’s needs are supported and the staff is actively growing their expertise.

What will make you a good fit

  • At least five years of professional experience in a combination of research and management roles
  • A bachelor’s degree in journalism, business, marketing, communications, public policy, energy, political science, or related field preferred
  • Experience in customer experience, digital engagement, or contact center operations
  • Experience managing a diverse team of subject-matter experts, market researchers, or content creators
  • Exceptional presentation, writing, and document-preparation skills
  • Strong writing, research, analytical, communications, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated interest in energy efficiency, water efficiency, or sustainability preferred

Benefits

  • We offer excellent insurance packages, including medical, dental, and vision plans; company-paid life insurance; company-paid long- and short-term disability insurance; and medical and dependent-care flexible spending plans.
  • We offer flexible schedules and generous paid time off as soon as you start, including three weeks of vacation, eight paid holidays, two floating holidays, and seven sick days a year. We have additional time-off banks for jury duty, bereavement, and parental leave.
  • We offer a 401(k) with a 3% employer match.

The budgeted salary for this position is $60,000 to $85,000 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Ideally this person will work from our Boulder location, but we’ll also consider remote candidates.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We’re unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.

Canada Invests in Clean Technologies for Electric Vehicles

Canada

Toronto, Ontario – July 29, 2021:
The Government of Canada is making it easier for Canadians to drive electric and transforming the way Canadians get to where they need to go.

Today, as part of #EVWeekinCanada, Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, Member of Parliament for Beaches–East York, on behalf of the Honourable Seamus O’Regan Jr., Minister of Natural Resources, announced a $12.7-million investment in six clean energy technologies projects to help put Canadians in the driver’s seat on the road to a net-zero future. The investments include:

  • $4.95 million to Hydro One Limited to develop a pilot for heavy-duty electric truck charging stations in Ontario. Hydro One’s pilot for electric trucks will be a model for other utilities and businesses interested in pursuing solutions to electrify heavy-duty transportation across Canada.
  • $2.5 million to the Toronto Transit Commission to implement a smart charging platform for its electric bus fleet. This project is expected to deliver a system to manage peak energy demand and reduce GHG emissions and overall infrastructure costs while optimizing the use of electric buses.
  • $2 million to Opus One Solutions to demonstrate a shared economy model for EV chargers. The project will seek to understand and address the impact of residential EV charging on local networks, as well as assess the potential of repurposing private home chargers through a sharing platform for public use to support growing EV adoption.
  • $1.32 million to Alectra Inc. to develop and implement an EV model for single-family and multi-unit residential buildings. The project will provide convenient and affordable access to EV chargers, manage energy cost increases and provide incentives for encouraging off-peak EV charging in the residential sector.
  • $1.3 million to Geotab Inc. to demonstrate an enhanced SmartCharge Incentive system that includes price signals to allow EV owners to have different charge windows to avoid or limit popular charging times. A price signal allows for an additional incentive for EV owners to charge at a specific time to shift electrical loads at the grid level.
  • $635,000 to Blackstone Energy Services Inc. to test drive a cost-effective vehicle-to-grid system that uses energy stored in EV batteries to provide cost savings to EV owners by encouraging them to discharge energy during peak electricity demand periods. The project will also provide cost savings to facility operators by offsetting power consumption during these periods.
