SEPA has tracked and documented over 90 utility-managed charging pilots and programs over the past five years (2017 - 2021). Over this period, managed charging programs have grown in number, program size, sophistication, and diversity of approach. In this Conversation, Garrett Fitzgerald will share insights from SEPA’s two recent managed charging publications and provide an update on the utility perspective of managed charging. He’ll review what has shifted since 2019, and will review a list of managed charging incentives, program design best practices, key insights, and the utilities' lessons learned. He will also make some recommendations for incentive structure and program recruitment.

The two SEPA reports referenced in this Conversation are available here:

About the Electric Transportation Interest Group

The PLMA Electric Transportation Interest Group will address the growing popularity of electric transportation across the U.S. and beyond, and its impacts on demand response, grid reliability, and beneficial electrification. Attendees can expect to develop a deeper understanding of ET trends, share best practices, and learn more about how utilities and vendors can work together to advance this important new opportunity. PLMA member practitioners will gain knowledge from industry experts as they discuss electric transportation, plus the infrastructure and data needs of light-duty, heavy-duty, and electric fleets.
