Hosted by the Women in Demand Management Interest Group, this PLMA HOT TOPIC Conversation will present the pilot launch of a newly developed mentoring program for PLMA member practitioners. A mentoring pilot will get underway this Fall, with an initial report-out at the 42nd PLMA Conference in November 2020, and a full program roll-out in early 2021.

This new PLMA mentoring program has two objectives:
1) To provide a vehicle for professional growth and skill-building among all PLMA member practitioners;
2) To create new opportunities to build relationships among PLMA member practitioners; both men and women, at all different career stages.

Come and participate, learn, or just listen. You’ll gather key insights and ideas from fellow load management practitioners from across the PLMA membership, as well as chance to participate in this program's pilot, or its formal launch. Women in Demand Management is seeking both men and women at all career stages to volunteer as mentors and mentees.

About the Women in DM Interest Group

Women in Demand Management promotes female leadership and advocacy in the energy sector by fostering honest and constructive conversation on gender issues; providing a forum for networking and professional development; and encouraging greater cooperation and communication among men and women to cultivate productive, diverse workplaces. Members strive to acknowledge and address the distinct experiences of all women, including women of color, gay and bisexual women, and trans women.

Who Should Attend HOT TOPICS?

Staff of PLMA member organizations are welcome to join in any HOT TOPIC conversation. If you are interested in a topic, please plan to join us! If you are curious about a particular Interest Group and would like to better understand its focus and work, please participate. And, if you have colleagues within your organization who you think may find a TOPIC interesting, please invite them to log in too.

If your organization is not yet a PLMA member, and you'd like to participate in the HOT TOPICs program and other member opportunities, please consider joining PLMA. For more information, please contact Rich Philip, Executive Director; or Judy Knight, Chief Development Officer.

HOT TOPICS are all about engaging PLMA member practitioners in conversations about important current issues affecting dynamic load management, including demand response, and distributed energy resources. Tune in for an online conversation and chat with the PLMA Interest Groups. Join us to participate, learn, or just listen. You’ll gather key insights and ideas from across the PLMA membership.
