This two-day interactive course explores the key elements of demand response (DR) activities. This includes program development subjects such as: the market and regulatory environments; business drivers; market potential; program design; and economic analysis. Program implementation subjects will include the tactics and methodologies used to improve program success, including a discussion of: organizational and resourcing strategies; contracting; business processes; technology integration; and measurement & verification.   • Demand Response and Distributed Energy Resource Market potential
  • Portfolio development for electric and gas: size and timing; grid services; non-wires alternatives; group exercise

  • Cost-effectiveness assessment: cost, benefits, standard tests, issues and decisions; group exercise
  • Program implementation strategies and tactics: staffing; marketing (assessment, branding, recruitment); group exercise;

The primary audience includes new and transitioning utility and regulatory staff as well as solution providers seeking to improve their knowledge of how transition/reposition/create customer programs to address demand response methods and emerging distributed energy resources to meet peak electricity demand, mitigate the impact of high energy prices, and manage variable generation.
